How to Cultivate Greater Discernment

*This is Part 2 in a two-part series about Online Marketing and Discernment. In Part 1 I shared ‘real talk’ about how we REALLY feel about online marketing. Bottom line? We feel overcome, annoyed, distracted and fatigued. Part 2: How to Cultivate Greater Discernment ——– With so much information and so many ideas competing for …

How We Really Feel About Online Marketing

*Part 1 of a 2-part series about Online Marketing and Discernment. Part 1: How we REALLY feel about online marketing ——– It’s damn near impossible to go online and not be reminded again and again of what we ‘should’ be doing to grow our business. The messages are constant, noisy, distracting, and many of them …

5 Ways to Bring Minimalism to Your Work

Minimalism is not just about owning less stuff. Although, owning less stuff is a great place to start because most people find that decluttering, organizing, and letting go of things creates more calm, more time for loved ones, and more money in their bank account. The idea is that when we become acutely and intentionally …

10 Decisions I Made to Design a Minimalist Business

This one is dedicated to my Dad. I love you. As humans we narrate our lives in reverse. Our hindsight is 20/20. A decade ago, when I started my coaching business, I did not know what I know now. I had to live the experience in order to understand it. This year marks my 11th …

How white privilege shows up in our marketing

Firstly: if you refuse to admit that white privilege exists, that’s a problem. As a white, middle class, cis-gender (she/her), able-bodied, educated woman, I walk through the world differently than someone who can’t tick those boxes. I carry a privilege that I have not earned and cannot un-have. This is true whether you agree or …

An Open Letter To Anyone Running Virtual Summits

Dear Summit Organizer; Thank you for inviting me to be a guest expert in your summit. My short answer is: No, thanks. I’m sure you have every intention of making this a wonderful experience for your guest speakers and those that attend; but if you’re open to another perspective, here’s mine. I’ve been a solo-entrepreneur …

This is a BRILLIANT guest post by the wise and lovely Jennifer Louden!  When Jac asked me to talk about my favorite ways to get feedback for my courses and retreats, I’ll admit my first thought was, “Do we have to talk about that?” Because feedback used to be such a painful topic for me. …

3 Ways a Thought Partnership Can Increase Your Bottom Line

A few months ago, I became aware that my work had evolved significantly over the past couple of years and that using the term ‘coach’ to describe my role didn’t feel accurate anymore. Neither did mentor, teacher, or consultant. Instead, my work had developed into a seamless blend of all of these skill-sets together. For months I …

Grande Greve, Cape Breton 😍 Grande Greve, Cape Breton 😍
Yesterday, at 1:30pm our Dad: Joseph Robert Jones, Yesterday, at 1:30pm our Dad: Joseph Robert Jones, age 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Dad was also known as ‘Joey’, ‘Big Joe’ and ‘Grandpa Joe’ and was well loved by everyone who knew him. Always with a huge smile and a twinkle in his eye. He loved his 3 little “munchkins” more than life itself. He was an ever present father to Joey and I, always there for us in every way. My Dad had the best of friends and community anyone could ever ask for. There is a huge unfillable void in our hearts. 💕
Thank you to everyone sending texts, emails, and p Thank you to everyone sending texts, emails, and phone calls about our Dad. My brother Joe, Aunt Doreen, & Uncle Brian are together here in Cape Breton spending quality time with him and keeping him comfortable. He remains in hospital where they can give him the support he needs. So many of you have also sat bedside with people you love dearly so you also know how it can be deeply intimate, beautiful, and gutting all at once and you just need to take it moment by moment. Ivy and I were able to get out for a big, cold walk this afternoon and it did us good. The ocean air — although biting — felt like a healing balm. 💕
